How to Play

Switch between the three lanes with the arrow keys, A/D, an on-screen button, or a swipe, and fire your nitro with space or the NITRO button for a burst of speed. Hitting traffic slows you hard, and nitro has a cooldown after each use. Each stage scores championship points by finishing position -- 10 for 1st, 6 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd -- and you always continue to the next stage even after a bad result, so the goal is your points total across all five, out of a maximum of 50. The rivals get quicker, the traffic gets denser and the race gets longer at every stage, so a strategy that wins Coast Sprint will not be enough by Night Circuit.

Tips

  • Save nitro for open straightaways instead of using it the instant it recharges -- a boost into traffic gets wasted the moment you clip a car.
  • Change lanes early when you spot traffic ahead: a late swerve at top speed is much harder to land than an early one, and it gets harder every stage as the traffic thickens.
  • You keep going after a bad stage, so never give up on a race -- 3rd place still banks 3 points, and those points decide the championship at the end.
  • Bolt and Nova are not equally fast: Nova runs slightly quicker on every stage, so if you can only cover one rival late in a race, cover the yellow car.
  • The last two stages run at dusk and at night, when traffic is harder to pick out against the dark road. Watch further ahead than you think you need to, rather than reacting to what is right in front of you.
