Frequently Asked Questions
The most common questions about how Elipar works.
Is Elipar actually free?
Yes — every game on the site is free to play, with no paywall, no premium tier, and no purchases anywhere in the catalog. The site is supported by ads.
Do I need to make an account?
No. Elipar has no accounts, no sign-up, and no login. Click a game and it loads instantly. Favorites, recently-played history, high scores, streaks, and achievements are all saved locally in your own browser instead of tied to an account.
Why did my progress or high score disappear?
Local saves live in your browser's storage, not on a server. Clearing your browser data, using private/incognito mode, or switching to a different browser or device all start you fresh, since there's no account to sync from. This is the same tradeoff behind having no accounts at all — nothing about you is stored anywhere except your own device.
Do the games work on mobile?
Yes, every game is built to work on a phone or tablet, either with touch controls (on-screen buttons or drag-to-aim, depending on the game) or by adapting the existing controls to touch input. Landscape games automatically get a taller, more usable frame on mobile than a naive fixed aspect ratio would.
Can I play without an internet connection?
Once you've played a game at least once, yes. Elipar is installable as an app on your phone or desktop home screen, and a service worker caches each game's files after your first play so it keeps working offline. The very first play of any game still needs a connection to load it.
How do leaderboards work, and are they tamper-proof?
Games with a leaderboard let you submit a score and a nickname you type yourself, shown publicly alongside other players' scores. There's no account behind this — a nickname is just text you enter each time, and scores are validated only by simple range checks on the server, not by re-simulating your actual run. Treat leaderboard scores as fun, not as a verified competitive ranking.
How do achievements and streaks work?
Achievements track things like total games played, favorites saved, and specific in-game feats (like a boss defeated or a milestone distance reached), and streaks count consecutive days you've played something. Both are calculated and stored entirely in your own browser — see the full list, locked and unlocked, on the achievements page.
Why does the daily word puzzle let me play again after I clear my browser data?
Word Vault's once-a-day lock works the same way as everything else on the site: it's enforced by your browser's local storage, not a server-side account. Clearing your data, using a private window, or switching devices genuinely does start a fresh attempt, since there's no account to check against. Within the same browser session, though, the daily lock is real — reload the page after finishing and you'll see the same locked result, not a new board.
Are the embedded games really free to use, or is this piracy?
Every third-party game on Elipar is genuinely open-source, released under a license like MIT, GPL, or AGPL that permits redistribution. Each of those game pages credits the original creator by name and links to the source repository — see the credit line under the game description.
How often do you add new games?
New games are added regularly, mixing original games built specifically for this site with open-source games we've vendored from their creators. The homepage's Featured section and the Game of the Day spotlight both surface a mix of older and newer additions rather than just the newest ones.
Can I play with a friend on the same device?
Yes — the Multiplayer category has same-screen 2 player games designed for exactly that, either by laying a phone flat between two players for true simultaneous multi-touch, or sharing a keyboard on desktop. Every multiplayer game also has a CPU opponent, so a solo visitor isn't locked out.
